What is this program about?

American Express partnered with Foursquare to provide Card Member offers across the U.S. and U.K. without the need for codes or coupons. When you tap to view location details in Foursquare for which an offer exists and tap on the offer details, you simply need to tap “Add to Card” to add the Offer to your Connected Card. To redeem an offer, you must follow the instructions in the offer terms and use your connected Card for the qualifying purchase described in the offer unless otherwise indicated in the Offer Terms. *Please note, at this time, valid U.S. eligible American Express Cards can only enroll in U.S. offers and valid U.K. eligible American Express Cards can only enroll in U.K. offers.

Which American Express® Cards are eligible for this program?

You may enroll any valid U.S. American Express Consumer Card, Business Card from American Express OPEN, American Express Serve® or BlueBird® Card in the program at http://amexoffers.com. American Express Corporate Cards and American Express Prepaid Cards other than American Express Serve® Cards or BlueBird® Cards are not eligible. Please visit Program Terms for more information.

What if I don’t have a Foursquare account?

You can easily create a new Foursquare account by visiting http://www.Foursquare.com.

How do I get started?

Visit amex.co/foursquare to get started. After you log in to Foursquare, you will be redirected to our secure American Express page where you will see two options to connect your Card. If you have an americanexpress.com User ID and Password, you can connect your Card using your americanexpress.com User ID and Password (available only to eligible Card Members with an American Express Consumer Card or a Business Card from American Express OPEN issued in the U.S. by American Express) or by entering your name, email address, and American Express Card number. If you don’t have an americanexpress.com User ID and Password, simply provide your name, email address, and American Express Card number to connect your Card to your Foursquare account. Your account information will never be shared with Foursquare. Once your Card has been connected, a confirmation message will appear.

Why do I have to connect my American Express Card to participate?

Connecting your Card is necessary so that American Express can provide you with exclusive couponless offers within the Foursquare app, and deliver statement credits to your Card account when you meet offer criteria. The Card connect occurs on a secure American Express site. Your Card information will never be shared with Foursquare.

Are you sharing my American Express Card number with Foursquare?

No. The accounts are linked with a unique identifier specifically created for this program. Your American Express Card account number will never be shared with Foursquare.

If I received a replacement Card, do I need to connect my new Card?

If your Card was issued by American Express: We will automatically update your replacement Card with your connect information. Any enrollments that are still available and not yet redeemed will be automatically transferred to your replacement Card. Contact Us with any questions.

If your Card was issued by a third-party bank licensed to issue American Express-branded cards: You will need to disconnect your old Card and then connect your replacement Card to your Foursquare account. Contact Us with any questions.

How do I get a couponless offer?

Once you have connected your Card, simply locate participating locations to view offers. When offers appear, tap “Add to Card.” Once you make a qualifying purchase using your connected American Express Card, you will receive an email confirming the transaction. Qualifying purchases will receive a statement credit within 90 days after the end of the offer period. No coupons required.

Where can I find where Amex Offers are available?

Card Members can view American Express Specials by searching ‘Offering a special’ on Foursquare and looking for the American Express logo.

What if I have more than one American Express Card?

You can only connect one Card per unique Foursquare account. When you add an offer in the Foursquare app and spend at the merchant, the Card you use must match the Card and Foursquare account that was connected with the program.

What if I want to disconnect/change my Card?

You may disconnect/change your Card anytime at sync.americanexpress.com/unsync or by calling the Customer Service number on the back of your Card.

How long will it take for me to get my statement credit for couponless offers?

A statement credit on your Card account will appear on your statement within ninety (90) days after the end of the applicable offer period, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from the merchant until all of the items from your qualifying purchase have been provided or shipped by the merchant. The statement credit may be reversed if the qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies a transaction as having occurred at a qualifying merchant, the transaction will not qualify for the statement credit. Which mobile devices can I see American Express couponless offers within?

You can view American Express couponless offers within the Foursquare app on iPhone, Android and Blackberry. For Blackberry mobile devices, please note that you can only participate in the Program using a BlackBerry with OS 6.0 or later.

Why can’t I use my American Express Card for some Foursquare Offers?

American Express provides exclusive Specials to our Card Members on Foursquare as part of our program. Because we manage all aspects of the user experience, we are able to ensure consistent value, service and security for our Card Members. The offers you are seeing and are not able to add are part of a separate program, not provided by American Express.
