  1. How does it work?

    Sync your eligible American Express® Card with your Xbox LIVE Gamertag to access exclusive content, offers and more. Users can also unlock additional offers and the opportunity to win a trip to the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June, 2013 upon reaching certain achievements in Halo 4.

  2. How do I sync my Card with Xbox LIVE?

    Visit amexbox.com to get started. You’ll need to enter your name, email address and American Express Card account number to register your Card. Upon successful registration, you will receive a unique Access Code that you’ll need to enter on your Xbox 360 to sync your Card.

  3. I received my Access Code but I can’t figure out where to enter it on my Xbox LIVE dashboard. Where should I go?

    You’ll find an American Express-branded tile on your Xbox LIVE dashboard. These units appear in popular areas of the Xbox LIVE dashboard, and you can always find one here:

    -> Click on the ‘Games’ section of the dashboard and then the ‘Browse Games’ tile

    When you click on the American Express-branded tile, you will be prompted to share your Xbox LIVE Gamertag if you haven’t already, and then enter the Access Code.

  4. What happens if I receive an error message when I try to enter my Access Code?

    It is possible that you entered your Access Code incorrectly. Please double check the confirmation email you received with your five character Access Code and attempt to re-enter it. If the problem persists, please Contact Us with questions.

  5. I received an error message when I tried to register my Card. Why can’t I generate an Access Code?

    You may receive an error message for a number of reasons. Only certain American Express Cards are eligible for this program. Please see the Program Terms and Conditions for full eligibility requirements. It is also possible that you may have exceeded the maximum number of registration attempts or the system is down. If you received an error message, please Contact Us so we can assist.

  6. I registered my Card on amexbox.com but did not receive my Access Code. What should I do?

    If you successfully registered your Card online, make sure you check the email account that you used to register. If you cannot find the email, please Click Here to retrieve your Access Code. Contact Us if you need additional assistance.

  7. What Xbox devices support this program?

    You can sync your eligible American Express Card with any Xbox 360 console connected to Xbox LIVE.

  8. Which American Express Cards are eligible for this program?

    You may enroll any valid U.S. American Express Consumer Card or Business Card from American Express OPEN. Corporate Cards and Prepaid Cards (such as American Express® Gift Cards and Serve® Cards) are not eligible. If your Card cannot be validated, please call the customer service number on the back of your Card for assistance. See our Program Terms and Conditions for full eligibility rules.

  9. Are there any fees associated with this program?

    No. There is no cost to sync your Card with your Xbox LIVE Gamertag to access exclusive content, offers and more.

  10. Will my account information be shared with Microsoft?

    No. American Express will not share any of your information with Microsoft.

  11. Why does American Express need my Card information?

    American Express requires your Card information in order to sync your Card with your Xbox LIVE Gamertag. When you sync your Card, you can access exclusive content, offers and more.

    When you load offers to your Card on your Xbox 360, spend at a participating merchant and meet the offer terms, American Express can issue a Statement Credit to your synced Card account. Additionally, when you reach certain achievements in Halo 4, we can provide you with the appropriate rewards and benefits. Your Card information will remain secure at all times and will not be shared with Microsoft.

  12. Why do I need to allow Microsoft to share my Xbox LIVE Gamertag information with American Express?

    Your Xbox LIVE Gamertag enables American Express to sync your Card with your Xbox LIVE account. This information allows American Express to identify when you’ve unlocked exclusive content, offers and more through the American Express sync experience on Xbox LIVE and to ensure that the appropriate rewards and benefits are delivered to you. American Express will not share or use your Xbox LIVE Gamertag information outside of this purpose.

  13. What if I don’t have an Xbox LIVE Gamertag?

    Signing up for Xbox LIVE and getting a Gamertag is easy. You can sign up online at xbox.com or through your connected Xbox 360 console in the settings area of the dashboard.

  14. What happens if I change my Xbox LIVE Gamertag?

    Any offer(s) that have been loaded to your Card prior to changing your Xbox LIVE Gamertag will remain active and you will be able to get your Statement Credit(s) as soon as you meet the offer(s) criteria. In order to load new offers to your Card, you’ll need to first unsync, and then re-sync your Card. To unsync your Card please visit amexbox.com/CustomerService or call the Customer Service number on the back of your Card. Then you can re-sync by visiting amexbox.com.

    Please note that once you re-sync with your new Xbox LIVE Gamertag, you do not need to re-enroll in any offers that you previously loaded to your Card.

  15. How do I unsync my Card from my Xbox LIVE Gamertag?

    Contact Us to unsync your Card or call the Customer Service number on the back of your Card. Please note that all offers loaded to your Card before you unsync will remain valid and active. If you decide you want to continue to participate in the program you will need to return to amexbox.com to re-sync your Card.

  16. If I receive a replacement Card, do I need to sync my new Card?

    If your Card was issued by American Express: We will automatically update your replacement Card with your sync information. Any enrollments that are still available and not yet redeemed will be automatically transferred to your replacement Card. Contact Us with any questions.

    If your Card was issued by a third-party bank licensed to issue American Express-branded cards: You will need to unsync your old Card and then sync your replacement Card to your Xbox account.

  17. Can I Sync more than one American Express Card with my Xbox?

    You can sync one eligible Card per unique Xbox LIVE Gamertag.

  18. How do I redeem offers after syncing my Card to my Xbox LIVE Gamertag?

    Once you have synced an eligible American Express Card, you can load offers to your synced Card by clicking on an offer using your Xbox controller or Kinect, and then clicking “Load to Card” using your controller or Kinect. Once loaded, when you make a qualifying purchase* that satisfies the terms and conditions of the offer with your synced Card, American Express will send you a confirmation email. A statement credit will appear on your statement within 8 weeks after American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from the merchant until all of the items from your qualifying purchase have been provided or shipped by the merchant. The statement credit may be reversed if the qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies a transaction as having occurred at a qualifying merchant, the transaction will not qualify for the statement credit.¬†For details on offers tied to Halo 4 in-game achievements, please reference the below. *Please note that you do not need to make a qualifying purchase to receive the $10 Statement Credit.

  19. How can I unlock offers by playing Halo 4?

    When you have synced an eligible American Express Card, you can unlock offers upon reaching certain achievements in Halo 4. Importantly, in order to be eligible for the offers, you must be logged in with your synced Xbox LIVE Gamertag while playing Halo 4.

  20. What offers can I unlock by playing Halo 4?

    • “Operation Completion” Achievement:
      Complete the “Operation Completion” achievement and get $50 back as a one-time Statement Credit when you spend $100+ at Best Buy with your synced Card by 1/31/13. You must wait until you receive an email confirmation before redeeming this offer, which may take up to 7 business days after completing the achievement. After receiving the email confirmation, you will be able to make a qualifying purchase to receive a Statement Credit.

    • “Wake Up John” Achievement:
      Complete the “Wake Up John” achievement and get a one-time $25 Statement Credit on your synced Card within 8 weeks of unlocking the offer. After completing this achievement you will receive an email confirmation from Amex within 7 business days. You do not need to take any further action to receive the $25 Statement Credit.

    • “Lone Wolf Legend” Achievement:
      Please note that the E3 competition tied to the “Lone Wolf Legend” achievement is now closed and potential winners will be hearing from us shortly. The full list of winners will be available after January 15, 2013 or after winner confirmation is complete. Please review the Official Rules, available at amexbox.com/offerterms, for complete details.

  21. What is the E3 Contest and how can I participate?

    Please note that the E3 competition tied to the “Lone Wolf Legend” achievement is now closed and potential winners will be hearing from us shortly. The first 25 synced Cardmembers to complete the “Lone Wolf Legend” achievement will be winning a trip for two to the E3 conference in Los Angeles, CA in June 2013. The full list of winners will be available after January 15, 2013 or after winner confirmation is complete.
